WASHINGTON — U.S. Space Command has awarded a $14 million contract to LinQuest for support services, the company announced April 15.
LinQuest a year ago received a $9.2 million contract to help with the standup of the command.
Based in Los Angeles, LinQuest is a longtime support contractor of the Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center. The company has about 60 employees who work at U.S. Space Command full-time at the command’s primary locations at Peterson Air Force Base and Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado.
The new support contract runs through April 21, 2021. LinQuest will provide administrative support and professional staff services.
Jeff Renehan, LinQuest vice president and general manager of operational systems support solutions, told SpaceNews that the standup of U.S. Space Command — which was officially reestablished as the military’s 11th unified combatant command on August 20, 2019 — has moved faster than expected. Rehenan said the work has not stopped during the coronavirus pandemic.
